Injuries have been plaguing the Seattle Sounders of late. They came into Saturday’s match having lost 3 of their last 4, in a month that some said should have been an easy stretch of games.
Seattle went down a goal to Colorado in the 60th minute off a corner kick. Then just five minutes later, the Sounders pressed hard and DeAndre Yedlin, his first attempt saved, headed in the rebound for his first MLS goal of his career.
The conditions were great for fans who want to get a tan, but that bright sun was pretty brutal for photography. In addition to the harsh shadows on players faces, the heat waves coming off of the artificial turf causes some shots to appear blurry even if the subject is in focus. And the further away the person is from my camera, the worse the effect.
But all that said, I do love getting out of the stadium early enough that I can still do something in the evening. Next week’s 8 PM start (on a Sunday, no less!) will be a different story.
