365: Day 17 – Golden Seattle

It’s moments like this that remind me how beautiful Seattle can be. It had been getting dark and dreary, as it usually does around sunset on a cloudy November day. Then all of a sudden an orange-gold light was illuminating the apartment building across the street. Luckily I had my camera nearby and a nice view from our third floor because this only lasted about two minutes.

I would have loved to have gotten to a better vantage point, but I knew that if I hesitated at all, I’d miss it completely. So, here’s the view of downtown Seattle from our house.

  1. Really, really nice! Reminds me of sunrises from back home in Colorado, where the mountains would glow like that while everything else still slumbered.

    • Thanks! Surprisingly, this actually happens somewhat regularly here this time of year. So often we’ve got those dark clouds overhead, then just as the sun is setting, it peeks out for just a few minutes. Forget about “the golden hour,” it’s more like the golden minute!

  2. Very, Very GORGEOUS!
Grew up in the Pacific NW, travel all over the world, but always look forward to coming home to this!
Thank you for capturing the beauty of “my home”!
