Well, I was supposed to take the night off for my birthday, but I just couldn’t pass this up. The big announcement that three days earlier hardly anybody expected to actually happen — the Seattle Sounders signed US Men’s National Team captain and English Premier League star, Clint Dempsey.
I can’t really add much to what has already been said. It still feels a bit surreal. But I went down to the pitch and shot the big unveiling ceremony before the match. And that’s all I shot. Once I was done, I headed to the press box, sent some photos to the various outlets that had asked me to shoot for them, and then joined my wife in the stands.
I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday. Clint Dempsey becomes a Sounder. And they get 3 points. Tacos and free haircuts for all!
