On Tuesday, a good number of folks showed up at Starfire to catch their first glimpse of the newest Seattle Sounder in action, Clint Dempsey. But they would have to come back because he stayed home sick.
Today there was a slightly smaller crowd, but Clint participated in the full training. He seemed to be fitting in well with the team. There were moments of laughter between him and former New England Revolution teammate Shalrie Joseph. And during one of the scrimmages, he and fellow US Men’s National Team member and close friend Eddie Johnson were battling for a ball. When Eddie got the better of him and shoved him to the ground, both were laughing.
It was definitely fun to see him out there. Not that this is news, but man, he has some skills. He is going to be a whole lot of fun to shoot! And assuming all stay healthy, the Oba-EJ-Clint partnership is going to do quite well.
