On Thursday night, the new Seattle Reign FC played their first friendly of the year at Husky Soccer Stadium against the UW women’s team. Most of the national team players were out due to call-ups. Only Japanese international Nahomi Kawasumi was in town. We’ll have to wait a little longer to see Megan Rapinoe, Sydney Leroux, Stephanie Cox, Hope Solo, Jess Fishlock, and Kim Little out there with the rest of them. But all of that didn’t seem to matter, as the team that took to the field was quite impressive.

And if you are staying in town this weekend, you should definitely go check them out at Memorial Stadium on Saturday. It’s a free match that starts at 6 PM.
