This could easily have been called the Nick Rimando show. He was simply amazing. The Sounders had several good shots on frame, but none of them made it past the Real Salt Lake keeper. Though he was kept slightly less busy, Seattle Sounders keeper, Michael Gspurning, also put on quite the performance. In the end, they had 5 and 4 saves, respectively.
The Sounders will travel to Salt Lake to play the second match of the two-leg series. Whoever wins that match will go on to the Western Conference Final. I really hope this wasn’t my last match of the season. But we’ll know for sure next Thursday.
