Project 365: Days 167-179

Two weeks have passed since my last Project 365 post. It’s been getting tougher lately to find the motivation to keep at it. There were definitely some moments of almost giving up. But this past Saturday I made a pact with a good friend who is also doing his own Project 365, Mike Pirnat — neither us of will quit as long as the other keeps going.

So, here are my photos from days 167-179. This actually only brings me up to Saturday. After making the pact with Mike, I went for a long walk the next day and came home with a few more than one shot to share. Day 180 will get its own post.

I don’t know how long this new motivation will last. I have no doubt I will have some more struggles with inspiration, but I’ve made it this far. I can’t stop now!!

Day 167: Pillow Pattern

Day 168: Rainy Day Tree

Day 169: Sock-er!

Caught this funny moment when Landon Donovan and the LA Galaxy came to town. I shared more photos from this match in a separate post.

Day 170: Tail

Day 171: Dusty Boots

Day 172: Goal Kick

It was getting close to the end of the first half of the Sounders vs Union match, and I had already gotten plenty of shots. So I decided to try something a little different. I lowered the ISO, stopped down the aperture, and slowed the shutter to get this panning shot. Not the typical “sports” shot, but it was fun to play around a bit.

Day 173: Day-old Supermoon

I didn’t get any shots of the moon when it was “super” but took this one a day later.

Day 174: Laces

Yep, those are my running shoes. I’m slowly trying to get back into running again. Hopefully this time without any injuries!

Day 175: Whiskers

Day 176: Windows

Day 177: Air Force One

President Obama paid a visit to Seattle on day 177. I was lucky that they had to take off heading north from Boeing Field, so he flew right past my house in West Seattle as he was leaving.

Day 178: Zucchini

Day 179: Lens Cap

  1. If I’m doing the math right, and if you’ve kept shooting this week, then you’ve crossed the halfway point (183/365). With every passing day, there is more of the 365 behind you than ahead of you. I think if you take a bit to reflect on that, you’ll find that it’s pretty darn exciting!

At least, that’s what I’m telling myself to get through the next 46 days. ;-)
