Just a quick post this time. I needed to take a little break from preparing for my upcoming photo exhibit in October. (If you’re in Seattle, go RSVP!)
I captured this image on our Thumb Butte hike, near Prescott, AZ. I manipulated very little during post production. The branch and woodpecker were back-lit by bright white clouds which ended up looking rather gray. So I just slightly increased the brightness until the light gray background blew out to white.
Compared to many of my other photos which often contain numerous lines and patterns it is a very simple shot. And I think it’s that simplicity that I like. As the saying goes, sometimes less is more.
