Sounders and Red Bulls Draw in Torrential Rain

The Seattle Sounders had their six match winning streak at home broken, but they remain unbeaten at CenturyLink Field over the last 14 matches after a 1-1 draw against the New York Red Bulls on Sunday night.

The weather folks had been predicting a horrible storm for Sunday night. And for the first half, it wasn’t all that bad. Then in the second half, the deluge arrived. I have a love/hate relationship with shooting in the rain. I hate having to deal with protecting my gear from getting wet, but I do love that extra dramatic feeling a good downpour adds to action photos.

There are only two more home matches left in the regular season. While they haven’t clinched a playoff spot, yet, it looks pretty likely that the Sounders will make it to the post season for the fifth time in a row. Unfortunately, I will likely miss most of the playoff matches as I’ll be traveling in Central America for part of November. So hopefully they will make it all the way to the MLS Cup and get home field advantage!
