With the 2013 MLS season nearly upon us, I decided to look back through my images from the 2012 Seattle Sounders. It was an exciting season – from the Community Shield through to the Western Conference Final, with many Champions League, US Open Cup, and even a few Reserve League matches in between. Oh, and there was also a little friendly with Chelsea.
It was my first year photographing the Sounders. In total, I worked 29 matches. Trying to select just a few was rather difficult, so here are a whole bunch of them.
Some I picked for their significance – Zach Scott’s match-winning header against Colorado, Roger Levesque’s final match, or Steve Zakuani celebrating his first MLS goal since his broken leg. While others I chose simply because there was something about the photo I liked – the composition, the moment, the light, etc.
I hope you enjoy looking through them as much as I enjoyed selecting them. March 2 is almost here – a season bound to be filled with new stories, some new faces, and of course, lots of photographs.
